After passing from Sariska Tiger Reserve to Bhangarh Fort in Alwar district of Rajasthan, we passed through Ajabgarh Fort. As an entry into Bhangarh is restricted after sunset, we were in a hurry. I did not climb the Ajabgarh Fort, but I found its base. A local sheep grazing sheep told me that there was nothing that I could see from below except four walls. If I knew its importance in the destiny of the fort I was going to, I made another attempt.
The drive to Bhangarh Fort was terrible. We passed through a village which was very inhabited. The main road was lined with ruins of beautiful Havelis. Children were seated in front of intricately carved wooden doors with large rusted locks.
Bhangarh Fort was built by the Kachwaha ruler of Amber, King Bhagwant Singh, for his younger son Madho Singh in 1573 AD. Was done in Madho Singh's brother was Mana Singh, who was the commander of Akbar. Madho Singh was succeeded by his son Chatar Singh. It was Ajab Singh, the son of Chatar Singh, who built the fort of Ajabgarh.
